Now available in the Community Bookstore

In 2000-2003, Dr. David Crabtree taught through the book of Genesis at Reformation Fellowship, a church in the Eugene area. MP3s produced from audio tapes have been available in the Community Bookstore, but the recordings had been transferred from tapes into digital format using an older technology, so the quality was very poor. In May 2010, the tapes were re-transferred into digital format, and the quality is now similar to the quality of the other recordings we offer. Because the improved sound quality is significant, people who have the older version may want to update their libraries.

For other materials by David Crabtree, see his author page on the McKenzie Study Center website.

What's Cooking?
A cooking show about the history of modern philosophy

Additional performance added for Saturday, May 22. Call 541-683-5141 for reservations.

Join us on either May 20 or 21 at the Gutenberg College Open House, and see Gutenberg’s latest theater production: a history of modern philosophy—as a cooking show! Please join us for dinner at 6:00 p.m. The play, written by Gutenberg tutor Tim McIntosh and performed jointly by Gutenberg students and working actors from Eugene, will follow at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $5 per person, and reservations are required. Please call 541-683-5141 to reserve tickets.

Gutenberg College premiered its first dinner theater performance in 2009. All the plays have been based on Gutenberg’s “great books” curriculum and have included The Trial of Socrates, Narcissus & Echo Go to the Mall, The Trial of Luther, The Metamorphosis, and Hell, Purgatory & Heaven: A Walking Tour (based on Dante’s Divine Comedy). The Open Houses and performances are a great way for people to get to know Gutenberg better.

Tutor Tim McIntosh, who has written all of the plays, teaches writing to Gutenberg freshmen and sophomores. He is also a playwright, screenwriter, and actor. His play Søn of Abraham received a “Best New Plays” award, and the film of his screenplay Mandie was released by Kalon Media in spring 2009. He earned his M.A. in theology from Reformed Theological Seminary.
